About Flights To The Ring of Fire Ontario

Location

The Ring of Fire is a huge mineral discovery comprised primarily of Chromite but also including copper, gold and palladium and is located about 500 km northeast of Thunder Bay and about 70 km east of of Webequie. Currently the only access to the Ring of Fire is by aircraft (fixed wing and helicopter) Float and ski planes planes take exploration and drill crews into remote lakes and rivers. In some cases packed runways have been established on the frozen lakes allowing wheel planes access as well. Helicopters play a majore part of the exploration program as many of the regions are not accessible by conventional aircraft

The Ring of Fire Ontario Airport

The closest airport to the Ring Of Fire Mineral Deposit is the remote First Nations community of Webequie.  The airport has a 3,500 foot gravel runway.
